Petra born on the 11th August 1987. The passion for music runs in the family since her father is a musician. Petra started playing the piano at the tender age of six years. She sang for the first time on stage at the age of ten years during a school concert from that day onwards the passion for singing grew each day. At the age of sixteen she joined her dads band singing in weddings hotels and different occasions.
She started taking her first vocal lessons at the age of 19 when she met her current vocal coach Joshua Alamu.
The first competition Petra took part in was the Malta Song 2008 with the song Street Car of Desire written by Elton Zarb and Rita Pace. She placed sixth with this song for her it was a great achievement since it was her very first time. After that Petra was the winner of the tv singing competition The Academy.
Petra always had a love for the black genre like soul r&b jazz and gospel. Her greatest inspirations are Stevie Wonder Aretha Franklin Nina Simone Etta James Ray Charles Amy Winehouse Joss Stone and Beyonce.
Last year she joined the Animae Gospel Choir which for her it is a dream come true since she always wished to be in a Gospel Choir.
Her aspiration is to keep on working hard in her music career and share her talent with alot of people if possible with the whole world. J
